Each year NYC theater company Waterwell hosts an event for Memorial Day called Fleet Week Follies as a way to bring together the military and civilian community for a day of celebration and entertainment.. Unfortunately they are unable to host the event this spring due to the coronavirus pandemic. Instead they will be hosting a virtual event. See below for details. A SERIES OF INFORMAL CONVERSATIONS TO BRING TOGETHER MILITARY + CIVILIAN COMMUNITIES DURING MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND On Saturday, May 23, Waterwell will launch this series of informal 45-minute conversations via video chat. Each 'room' will have 8-9 participants, about half of whom have a military affiliation and half of whom are civilians and/or essential workers. With 2 co-facilitators to host the room - one from NYC's arts and entertainment world and one from the military - we will hope to create a fertile space for everyone in the room to participate, express themselves, and share some experiences about life during COVID. These Conversations will happen on Saturday, May 23 at 1:00p, 2:30p + 4:00p, Eastern Time Are you interested? Fill out the sign-up form, here *Please Note: Space for this project is limited. Signing up does not automatically guarantee you a spot, though we are looking forward to accommodating as many people as we can. Look for an email with more information and if you are confirmed to participate.
