Veterans of New York Founder & President Colin R. O'Leary was featured as the keynote speaker at St. John's University for the Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Dinner back on November 7th. The fundraising dinner is hosted annually at St. John's by the Kappa Sigma fraternity. The fraternity hosts the event annually as a way to raise money for Veterans charities and non-profits. O'Leary spoke to a crowd of about 200 at the event, which included students, faculty, staff, Veterans, and active duty military. His speech honored Veterans for their service and he also shared some professional advice that he developed in the military and civilian world. The event included dinner, raffles for gift baskets, and a 50/50 raffel. It was a big success overall. Thousands of dollars were raised at the event to support Veterans organizations through Kappa Sigma's on-going Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign.
